This Dr. Pepper Blackberry Dump Cake is easy to make with blackberry pie filling, chocolate cake mix, butter, and a fudgy Dr. Pepper icing.

This Dr. Pepper Blackberry Dump Cake is a spin on my Dr. Pepper Cherry Dump Cake I made back in 2022.
The minute I saw that blackberry Dr. Pepper was coming out I knew I wanted to make a dump cake with it.
Blackberry pie filling can sometimes be hard to find, but you can almost always buy it from Walmart…either in store or online.
So if you love blackberries and chocolate….this cake is for you. 🙂

Can I make my own Blackberry Pie Filling?
You can. Here is a recipe to try.
But the whole point of a dump cake is that it’s easy. It’s the oh no, I forgot I have a potluck at work tomorrow kind of cake.
However, if you really want to make the pie filling, give it ago. I will warn you that if you go homemade it might be more liquidy when you are scooping out the fruit from the dump cake.

Do I have to make the frosting?
It maybe hard to believe but there is always someone who asks if they have to have the frosting.
Or icing.
Yes, I think those people are odd. 🙂
The cake part or this dump cake recipe only has three parts.
The chocolate cake mix.
Blackberry pie filling.
Melted butter.
So without the frosting it’s a little plain.
You can however jazz it up with ice cream or a lot of whipped cream.
But who doesn’t love a fudgy chocolate frosting?
So why wouldn’t you want to add it to the dump cake recipe?
